You're not imagining it, history shows that governments always manipulate tragedies to attempt to disarm the people.
Guns are not the problem - we've had guns for 200 years, but only in relatively recent years have we had so much senseless gun violence. Criminals will get guns - legal or not, just as they get Meth (for which there are also laws). Criminals do not care about laws or lives. Something has gone terribly wrong with the morality of these people, the attitude. Is it because of Hollywood violence? Gaming violence? We need to figure it out and fix the problem, lest we all become subjects and not citizens. No one under the age of 21 that is not in the military should be allowed to buy a gun, and no one who requires the use of drugs to function (psychotropics). Those are sensible gun laws. As a gun owner, I am appalled that someone would go and shoot an innocent person, but these people do not believe their victims are innocent - therein lies the problem.
Sunny, your breakdown is exactly why we have not been attacked face to face on our soil. We have over 1 million gun owners - the enemy knows that - and this does not include our military. That's one heck of an army! Very well presented history.
