How *They'll* Feel When *We* Gift Anonymously (hint: good)

One of my correspondents who lives in Hawaii emailed this wonderful story of inspiration while raising an eyebrow? Did one of YOU do this? Or someone from the RV/GCR? It would be nice to think so, and even nicer to think we can all do these random acts of giving SOON!

About a week ago, a customer came into the store where I work. I helped her with her purchase, she handed me an envelope and said, "My daughter wanted me to give you this." I noticed the envelope saidThankyou on the front of it, so I assumed it was a thank you note and didn't open it right away. The store is closing (going out of business) and a lot of people have been sharing their feelings around that.

A bit later, I did open it and found a $100 bill inside!

I put the envelope with the money in my purse.

A bit later the store manager came up to me and asked if I had received such an envelope and she took it from me while they "investigated" it.

I didn't get upset, I just told myself — and the Universe — that the money would return to me either directly or indirectly and let it go.

 

Yesterday, the store manager handed it  back to me saying they decided it was a random act of kindness and those who received them were entitled to them!

Random Acts of Kindness....
I read somewhere about utilizing gift cards and distributing them as prompted. Such a good idea. On my agenda for sure.
Suggestions for tipping. It has been said that $100 tips might cause too much of a ruckus and draw too much attention to the giver for security reasons. Here's what I am going to do:
Instead of a $100 bill...if the ticket is $20 bucks or so, pay with a crisp $50. If the bill is $100 or so, tip with a crisp $50. Not too much, but a great reward for great service. Much more discrete.
